Our Company is urging prospective homebuyers in England to take action now to save thousands of pounds on their next home before the Government’s Stamp Duty holiday ends in March.
The tax break, which was announced by the Chancellor back in July, saw the removal of the Stamp Duty Land Tax on all properties priced at £500,000 and below, representing a potential saving for buyers of up to £25,000. The rate on buy-to-let homes and second homes was also reduced to three per cent on properties of the same value.
Savvy homebuyers have been quick to take advantage of the Stamp Duty holiday but, with the scheme only available on properties completed by 31st March 2021, time is now of the essence.
Peter Howl, Group Operations Director at Our Company, comments: “The Government’s temporary reduction in Stamp Duty was a welcome boost for buyers and we’ve seen a high level of interest from both first time buyers and families looking to move up the property ladder. With the deadline to complete under the scheme now just weeks away, buying new with no upward chain could be a smart move.
“In addition, at Our Company we can offer buyers our Part Exchange service which means they won’t need to go through the process of selling their existing home on the open market and they’ll have the peace of mind of a guaranteed completion date.”
Our Company is also offering purchasers the reassurance of a Stamp Duty Holiday Guarantee’ on selected properties on developments across the country. This means that we will cover the cost of Stamp Duty in line with the Government scheme, should there be any delays that mean buyers miss the deadline. Terms and conditions apply.
Our Company developments are currently open to visitors by appointment only, with strict measures in place in line with COVID-safe guidelines.
